Hui Maka'ainana a Kalawahine is a grassroots pro-active community group of Kalawahine Hawai'ian Homesteaders who are inspired and dedicated to the vision and legacy of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole.

The Hui was formed to improve community communication and relations. We strive to take an active role in commumity involvement and in increasing community awareness and participation. We promote services that improve the well-being of our Hawai`ian Homestead Communities and perpetuate the practice of our Hawai'ian culture, traditions and values.

The name ''Hui Maka'ainana a Kalawahine'', translates to the working people or citizens belonging to Kalawahine. Its meaning refers to ''The eyes of the land of Kalawahine''
