Disabled American Veterans Chapter 29

Welcome

The Braintree DAV Chapter # 29 received its 
charter from the Disabled American Veterans 
National Headquarters on October 31, 1955. 
Chapters meeting place, at that time, was located 
at 8 French Ave. Braintree. As the membership 
increased over the next seven years so did the need for a new location for its headquarters. In the spring of 1962 the Chapter broke ground for its new home located at 788 Liberty Street. The first meeting was held at the current location on Liberty Street on October 1, 1962.

Chapter 29 Meetings 
3rd Monday of the month - at 7:30 pm 
No meetings in July and August 

Board of Directors Meetings 4th Monday of the month - at 8 pm - Only in March, June, September and December

Banquet or Function facilities

We have two halls fully accessible to the handicapped. The down stairs hall will accommodate up to 70. The main hall will seat up to 210 for weddings, banquets or anniversaries. Set up for meetings the hall will seat 250. For rental information call Jerry Sheehy at 781-843-9688 or 781-848-6128 weekdays between 9 AM and noon.

Veterans Helping Veterans

The main fund raiser for Veterans Helping Veterans is our annual Forget-Me-Not Drive. Funds raised from this drive and other donations marked for “Veterans Helping Veterans” is used exclusively for the benefit of veterans. 

GOT ANY SPARE TIME? 
There are many odd jobs around the Chapter Headquarters that need to be done. A little painting and other small projects, if you can spare an hour or two, stop by any day between 9:00 and 12:00 (noon) and speak with Jerry Sheehy. Your help will be appreciated
