Minutes for July 17, 2008

Present: Charles Owen, Bob Davison, Donnie Faulkner, Linda Duncan, Martin Rothman, Vicki Welch, Mark Osborn, Murry Harral, Billy Vincent

Guests:

Terry McGuire - requested approval from Directors to extend her driveway to the side of her present driveway, 10-12 feet in width and 15 feet in length. Contractor getting all approvals from LG&E.

Public Works personnel Tammy ? - spoke to us about our request to have Stop signs put in on Sam at York River Rd. and on Old Towne at Old North Church Rd. Since we have not had 5 accidents at these intersections in the past 12 months, we do not qualify as needing these to help control traffic speed.

Speed humps were also discussed - cost of $1800 each - also discussed replacing our plastic Stop signs with Public works metal Stop signs; we'll need to use PW's posts. Some want our posts instead. We'll discuss this later.

The Minutes for June were read and approved, as was the Treasurer's Report for June showing we have a bank balance of $27,068.08 as of June, 2008. Bob moved; Marty seconded; passed.


Old Business

Neighborhood Yard Sale will be October 4; Annual Meeting will be October 18 at Epiphany UMC on Southside Drive. It was decided that dues of $192 will remain the same for '09.


New Business

Linda moved; Marty seconded the motion that we approve the driveway extension proposed by Terry McGuire; passed.

Vicki arranged for Bud Shardein to meet with Directors at the lake on July 18 at 10:00 a.m. to discuss how MSD can help stop their water from eroding the shores of our water basin.

Bob will call to request street cleaning along National Turnpike.

There was a discussion in which it was suggested that there would be no August meeting of the Board of Directors. Vicki moved that we not meet in August; Bob seconded; passed.
