Train Derailment

Didn't know if anyone heard, but a train derailed behind our neighborhood at 5:30pm on October 15th.

It was determined that there were no hazardous materials on board at the time, and apparently repairs to the tracks are occuring as I type this at 12:30am on the 16th.

Derailment Emergency Kit Request

Hi
I've always been concerned, and with this notice of derailment, I am finally compelled to request a discussion around Woodlawn Park provisions of emergency prep kits for homes in direct proximity to the railroad.
I believe that one significant provision for safety and response controls would be the availability of personal respirators for each member of designated homes along the tracks.
This provision may be a minimal investment to our residents - improving response efficiency and potential for success during an emergency, and potentially reducing WP city liabilities.

Please let me know what the council thinks of the availability of any such Derailment emergency prep kits and whether we can get a few estimates of the number and cost of respirators potentially needed.

thank you,
Natalie
