FYI.... Resident Passes Away

Just thought I'd pass this info along to all of you. Mrs. Lora Ilari on Westport Terrace passed away on Monday. My prayers and thoughts go out to Vince and the Ilari children and family, our neighbors.

This was posted in the Courier Journal on Thursday:

ILARI, LORA IRVINE, 41, passed away at her home on Monday, February 11. Her devoted husband, Vince, and children Isabel, 8, and Ian, 5, as well as her father, Bob Irvine, and brother, Jeffrey Irvine (Lisa) remain behind, while her mother, Ann Cullen Irvine, preceded her in 1983. Lora was deeply devoted to them all. Her dad remarried and her new mom, Becky Mason Irvine, loved Lora as if she'd borne her. Becky's children and their spouses, Debbie Mason Garner (James) and James Mason (Leigh Anne), related to Lora as if she always had been part of their family, while her beloved aunt, Jane Cullen Cable (Jack), helped her maintain ties with her first family. She returned that love and affection, just as she did to her many friends in Louisville. There were other close friends along the East Coast; and Lora enjoyed keeping those friendships alive over the years. Lora was valedictorian of her Walden High School graduating class, and a graduate of the University of Louisville. She achieved the rank of Diamond Designer as a jeweler for Premier Jewelry, and was a board member of the Louisville Jaycees and the Louisville Jaycees Foundation. In recent years Lora had been an active fundraiser for FEAT, Families for Effective Autism Treatment. Visitation will be at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, on Friday, February 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. An additional visitation will at Broadway Baptist Church, 4000 Brownsboro Road, on Saturday February 16th, at 1:00 p.m., prior to Lora's funeral at 2:00 p.m. Cave Hill Cemetery will be her final resting place. A memorial trust fund has been set up for Isabel and Ian Ilari's education. It is in Lora's name at Commonwealth Bank & Trust, 4210 Brownsboro Road, Suite 210, Louisville, KY 40207. Knowing Lora's devotion to their education she'd appreciate that more than flowers.
