ARIZONA PATIENT USAGE OUTPACES DONATIONS BY 20%
The influx of winter visitors has increased Arizona's population and created a greater blood demand by patients across the state. So far in 2004, patient blood needs have outpaced donations by 20% or 8,455 pints of blood. Six of eight blood types remain severely below minimum required levels.
