We are excited to have you with us and are dedicated to your child’s safety, security, and happiness.
Summer 2011 promises to be full of fun, games, crafts, field trips and more! This year at Rustic we are offering Pre-School Fun Camp (Ages3-5yrs), Sixers Camp (Age 6), Day Camp (Ages 7-12yrs), and a Counselor in Training Program for teens (Ages 13-15yrs).

Important Information
?‚· All campers must be signed in and out every day by a person listed on their registration form. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like your child to sign themselves in or out. All early pickups must go to the office.
?‚· A one-time $50 registration fee is required for all campers.
?‚· For any immediate pick up changes, parents or guardians must complete a “Pick up Changes form” and submit it to the office by 1:00pm on the day of the change.
?‚· Children not picked up by 3:30 PM will be placed in extended care.
?‚· Campers must wear closed toed shoes—no “wheelies” allowed—tennis shoes only. Children should wear comfortable clothes. Please have your child bring his/her lunch every day. We do not have the ability to make lunches for
?‚· children who forget theirs.
?‚· Camp shirts are to be worn daily. Campers without the required shirt will be given one at the cost of $10 to the parent. Campers must leave all electronics, cell phones, and toys at home. If a camper is discovered with one it will be con-fiscated and returned at the end of the day. Please label all clothes, jackets, backpacks, and lunch bags with the child’s name.
?‚· Cancellations prior to June 1st are subject to a $150 penalty fee;
?‚· NO refunds once a camp session begins. Rustic Canyon camp does not offer pro-rating for missed days of camp. Changes/transfers will be subject to a $45 administration fee. Absolutely no changes once a session has begun.
?‚· Units will be created based on camper’s age at the start of Summer 2010. Requests will only be considered if indicated on the registration form. Please write tall request, on the form. Requests are not guaranteed.

Sixers Camp is perfect for children entering the first grade. Skills such as friendship building and teamwork will be emphasized with activities such as arts & crafts, field games, skits, songs, sports, and special events.
Parents must submit a Birth Certificate copy at time of registration.
Don’t forget your lunch!
This is the ideal camp for children who haven’t yet entered elementary school. Letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and more will be taught in a safe and engaging environment using activities such as crafts, songs, games, and other enrichment activities/special events, and theme days.
Parents must submit a copy of their child's Birth Certificate at time of registration.

Rustic Canyon Summer Camp offers a wide variety of activities for your child - every day will be a new adventure! Swimming, arts and crafts, skits, songs, field games, team building, special events and field trips are just some of the many activities we will offer. Skills such as friendship, cooperation, and teamwork will be emphasized.
Parents must submit a Birth Certificate copy at time of registration.

This program is designed to mentor 13, 14, and 15 year olds to become future camp counselors. “CIT’s” will work directly with the staff to gain leadership skills, while learning to work with younger campers. Beach Tuesdays is one of the many exciting events that our CIT’s get to experience.
CIT’s must provide their own lunch.

Parents are invited to Rustic Canyon for an overview of Summer Camp 2011. Counselors,
Directors, Supervisors, Staff, and neighborhood representatives will be introduced as we walk you through a typical day of camp and go over policies. All questions will be answered and parents will receive a camp schedule. Also, camp shirts will be distributed at this time. Additional shirts will be available for purchase for $10 at the office for the duration of the summer.

Field Trip Policies
1. Campers must wear their 2011 Rustic Canyon camp shirt to ALL field trips. Those who forget theirs will be provided with one at the charge of $10 to the guardian upon pick-up.
2. All children must ride the chartered bus to and from the trip destination. No Exceptions
3. Parents, relatives, or friends are not permitted on the field trips.
4. Parents will receive a full schedule the first day of a session. It is the parents’ responsibility to read and follow any information given out each week regarding camp. Flyers are sent home the Thursday prior to the Field Trip. Make sure you re-ceive this flyer from your child and/or your camp counselor as information such as drop off and pick times, spending money and attire will be stated on those flyers.
***Due to occasional changes in availability, field trip dates and/or locations are subject to change. On the rare occasion that a field trip must change, it will be substituted for one of approximately the same value.

Instructions
1. Fill out the registration form completely—each child needs their own form.
2. Place the form plus a copy of the birth certificate and the check made out to LA City Department of Recreation & Parks for the total amount in a sealed envelope
3. Please mail to Rustic Canyon RC US Mail. FedEx, UPS, and large envelopes will not be accepted.
4. Please be sure to put a legible e-mail address on your registration form
5. Receipts confirming enrollment will be e-mailed within three weeks of receiving registration.
6. Any registration for sessions which are already full will be placed on the waiting list and the check shredded. *An e-mail notification will be sent to the e-mail ad-dress listed on the registration form.
7. In order to be admitted to camp, every section of the campers registration form must be filled out and signed. NO EXCEPTIONS. If your form is not complete, your child will not be registered and the forms will be mailed back.
Extended Care
8:00AM—9:30AM; 3:30PM—5:30PM
Extended Care prepaid punch cards are available as follows:
$25.00 = 5 hours $50.00 = 10 hours $100.00 = 20 hours
Children not picked up by 3:30pm for Day Camp
will automatically be placed in Extended Care. Children not picked up by 5:30 pm will be placed in the recreation office until picked up, and the guardian charged
a late fee of $10.00 per every 15 minutes or part thereof.

RUSTIC CANYON SUMMER CAMP 2011
Please read carefully before you sign:
Campers must be signed into and out of camp and extended care daily by a person who has been authorized by you. Any person authorized to pick up must have their name on file with the Recreation Center and be prepared to show I.D. Rustic Canyon Rec-reation Center is not responsible for children before or after day camp unless they are currently enrolled in Extended Care. Writ-ten permission must be provided if you wish your child to be released to anyone other than those authorized on the registration form. We will check identification.
Children not signed out of Summer Camp by 3:30 p.m. for Day Camp will automatically be placed in Extended Care. Campers who are not signed out by 5:30 p.m. will be placed in the recreation center office and charged a late fee of $10.00 for every 15 minutes or part thereof. This applies to all children unless they have written parental permission (see below) to sign themselves out of camp. Children in Preschool Camp who are not picked up within 15 minutes of camp ending for the day will be charged $10 for every 15 minutes or part thereof.
I understand that my child must wear the appropriate Camp Shirt daily. Children not wearing the proper shirt will be given one and charged $10.00. I understand that all children must ride the charter bus to the field trips provided by the Recreation Center. There will be NO drop-offs or pick-ups at the trip sites. NO EXCEPTIONS. Staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please write your child’s name on their belongings.
