Mt. Tabor Neighborhood Association

The view's the thing

I need some advice. When I bought my house, I marveled at the spectacular view from my living room. In the last few years, a tree along my neighbors' parking strip has overtaken the view. A couple of neighbors behind me are cutting my trees to enhance their view and I thought that I'd ask the same of my neighbor. Actually, I had my husband ask because I got no response when I left a message. According to my neighbor, the tree can be neither topped nor thinned. I ask a fellow who knows his trees and he said that the tree could be thinned without harming it. Is there anything I can do to get a view without alienating a neighbor? I've got my fingers crossed.
