New Beginnings

Greetings in the Name of Jesus,

Guiding Light Baptist Fellowship is a new church plant at an old location. Guiding Light is located at 3213 Portland Avenue, the site of the former Portland Avenue Baptist Church, on the corner of Portland Avenue and 33rd Street.

As the preaching elder, I am in agreement with the Apostle Paul when he speaks to young Timothy, "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all people, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence, "He goes on to say, "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

As preaching elder of a new church in Portland it is my desire to be a relevant voice in the community. I believe that God has given us all we need to trust and obey Him in His Word, the Bible. The Bible is God's love letter and manual for living and contains everything a believer needs: teaching, correction, discipline, and instruction in righteousness. In it we find how to deal with the issues of life: raising children, finances, marriage, death, family matters and a host of others. At Guiding Light the Scriptures will be an intentional focus.

I invite you to come and join us for worship any Sunday at 10:45am. Small Group studies begin at 9:30am on Sunday with additional Small Group meetings during the week. All are welcome, and no one will be turned away. Come and see what God is doing at Guiding Light Fellowship, or even better come and be part of a new work of God! I look forward to meeting you soon.
