    I am not sure what is being done or what I personally can do to improve the security of myself and my neighbors but over the last year, from October 2008 to present, I have had my car broken into and vandalized 4 times.  Last night it happened again, 10 Nov, 2009. I work past midnight on most nights and when I come home there are very few options for parking.  I was parked in R Chin Alley.  I have asked for help from LMPD and from St James Assoc but in the last year the only proactive action I have seen is the placement of signs in the alley warning of "video surveillance".  Any Suggestions??? As a community this is a direct violation of our privacy.  I am so tired of working my butt off only to have some low life, vagabond who is envious of my accomplishments think that they have the right to take what is not theirs thinking that I bought it once, I must have the means to buy another one.  I am trying to get a better idea how many other people have had to deal with.  Please speak up and help me make our neighborhood safer.

Have you considered actually doing your own video surveillance?  Not only would this make the scum bag think twice before touching your property, but then you will hopefully be able to catch them on tape and bring it to the police and have them arrested.
