LIGHT RAIL PLANS INCLUDE TWO AREA STOPS

Plans are under way on the Interstate 25 Transportation Corridor, from Broadway to Union Avenue (south of the Union Avenue bridge and west of I-25). The plans include the construction of light rail, with stations at Louisiana Avenue and Buchtel Boulevard and west of the University/I-25 interchange near Buchtel and High Street. The Washington Park East Neighborhood Association is attempting to schedule a joint meeting for the neighborhoods affected by these stations. ZONING NEWS: The Denver City Council recently approved a significant change to the Zoning Ordinance. The revision, entitled ?¬Mixed-Use Zone Districts L-1048,?® is intended to give developers greater flexibility in combining residential and business uses. Such developments are occurring at the former Stapleton Airport, the former Lowry Air Force Base, Gateway, the Platte Valley, and Cherry Creek.
